FOOD AND FUN
Activities
Sure, the soft-white sands and emeral-green waters of the local beaches could keep you and your family busy forever, but there are endless possibilities off the seashore.
From exploring your wild side on a waverunner expedition around Choctawhatchee Bay to exploring flora and fauna from a comfortable glass-bottomed boad, the waters around Destin and Fort Walton Beach offer unlimited opportunities for fun. See dolphins and other marine life in their natural habitats by joining a charter eco-tour from the Destin Harbor. Or go diving or snorkeling to get up close and personal to the sea life.
Explore the coastline and rivers by canoe or kayak for a mellow afternoon. Or join a party fishing boat and meet new people from all walks of life in a relaxing, yet exciting setting. Or go solo and enjoy fishing from just about anywhere along our shores.
You might not be able to fly like a bird, but go parasailing and you'll at least get a bird's eye view as you soar above the stunning landscape and glistening waves below.
The Emerald Coast doesn't fall short of family fun. Take the kids to a naval aviation museum, a zoo or a marine park. Or join them for round of go-karting or mini-golfing. And after you're exhausted from a jam-packed day of entertainment, relax at one of our family-friendly restaurants full of local flair.
For the history buffs out there, pioneer settlers and Native American Indian mounds provide the perfect setting. The area boasts an impressive past. Learn about the Emerald Coast's history, including Spanish explorers, seafaring Native Americans and fishermen allured by the abundance of the Gulf of Mexico.
Don't miss a second of excitement!
